What benefits can be obtained by your commune if it becomes a partner commune to the Jan III Sobieski Trail (JIIIS)?
strona główna About programme about programme
English (United Kingdom)Polish (Poland)

The programme “A local brand as a guarantee of entrepreneurship development on the Knights’ Trail in Lublin Region” was developed for the development of entrepreneurship in the subregion of the Jan III Sobieski Trail, i.e. in  6 partner communes: Gorzków, Mełgiew, Piaski, Rybczewice, Spiczyn and Wólka.

The programme initiates a long process of territorial branding whose showcase will be quality products and services delivered in the sub-region, which will take reference to the legacy of King Jan III Sobieski and his family, and thus to the heritage of the Nobles’ Republic.

The programme awards non-repayable grants to business entities, including new companies that start their business activity, but also to non-governmental organizations, whose common denominator is the desire to engage in the creation of the brand of the Jan III Sobieski Trail as a strong and recognizable territorial brand.

The entities mentioned above have a chance to become involved in the process of building a brand by applying for a restricted grant under the programme and by launching new products and services with the financial support obtained, and in the case of non-governmental organizations - mainly through the events introducing the “noble” character of the Trail to the recipients of its offer.

The recipients of the products and services provided under the programme and after its completion are primarily residents of the Lubelskie Voivodship, but also the inhabitants of the neighbouring voivodships, who will be informed about the offer of the JIIIS Trail thanks to an extensive promotional campaign led under the programme. By that we understand short-term and long-term tourists, for whom the Trail will provide quality food, restaurant base, accommodation and, above all, a unique “noble”-style leisure offer.

An indispensable element of any project submitted for evaluation in order to obtain funding is to demonstrate that the product, service or event that the project involves, embraces the legacy of Jan III Sobieski and his family, refers to the customs of the era of the King or is inspired by specific historical events and, above all, has a “noble” character, that means it is far from the folk culture.

Importantly, the inspiration referred to above should not mean the reconstruction of historical events directly, their copying or reproduction. It assumes the creative use of cultural and historical heritage for the entrepreneurship development in the subregion.

All grant proposals submitted in subsequent calls under the programme will be subject to, first, a formal appraisal, and second, a content-related appraisal, for which the maximum number of points is 100. With regard to  content-related appraisal the applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

1. Adequacy – this involves the evaluation of  the coherence degree of your project objectives with the directions of the JIIIS Trail development and the level on which the proposed product / service / event complies with the target and planned offer of the JIIIS Trail as an integrated tourist product (40/100 pts.).
2. Sustainability of results – this criterion assesses the real time perspective in which the product / service / event can be kept on the market (30/100 pts.).
3. Budget and cost-effectiveness – this involves the evaluation of the ratio of the planned financial outlays to the quantity and quality of the expected products and results (20/100 pts.) 4. Methodology – this criterion assesses the coherence of all entries in the grant proposal and the logic of the arguments for awarding funding (10/100 pts.).
